Tickets

Your annual Patron membership includes access to the best seats in the house for MTC productions at the Friedman and Stage I and priority access to complimentary seats for The Studio at Stage II – Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series. All Patrons receive email announcements prior to a show’s first performance. If MTC does not have your email address, we will send periodic announcements via USPS. Upon notification, you can reserve your seats by clicking REDEEM MY BENEFITS, emailing [email protected], or calling the Patron Hotline at (212) 399-3040.

  • PATRON SEAT LOCATIONS AT THE FRIEDMAN AND STAGE I

At the Friedman, all MTC Patron Seats are located no farther back than row K and no more than six seats off the center aisle, or in the Premier Circle – the first two rows of the mezzanine (which overhang the orchestra at row G).

At Stage I, all MTC Patron seats are located no farther back than row K, in the the center section, or no more than four seats off the side aisles.

All seating is assigned by giving level. We keep special requests on file and are generally able to accommodate them.

  • COMPLIMENTARY SEATS AT THE STUDIO AT STAGE II

Patron memberships are designed to be flexible.  We hold the best seats in the house for Patrons so that they don’t necessarily have to make their reservations at the beginning of the season.  But Stage II is different.

With 150 seats, Stage II is our most intimate space, and the originally scheduled runs of The Studio at Stage II shows are only five weeks long.  These elements make The Studio at Stage II unique, but they also make last minute reservations and exchanges more difficult to accommodate at Stage II than at our other venues.

Only our Patrons receive priority access to complimentary seats at The Studio at Stage II included in their memberships.  For best availability, we encourage you to make your reservations for Stage II shows during the exclusive Patron priority booking period.  After the priority booking period, tickets go on sale to the general public, and availability becomes extremely limited.

All seating is assigned by giving level. We keep special requests on file and are generally able to accommodate them.

  • THE PATRON HOTLINE

The MTC Patron Hotline is open Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm.

Patron Seating closes at 2pm Monday through Thursday for that evening’s performance, and at 1pm on Fridays for weekend performances.

You will have a better choice of dates if you reserve earlier in a show’s run, so we encourage you to reserve your Patron seats as early as possible. Weekday performances tend to fill up more quickly than weekend performances.

  • RESERVING YOUR PATRON SEATS

For your convenience, there are three easy ways to reserve your Patron Seats, exchange existing reservations, and purchase additional tickets.

You can reserve by clicking REDEEM MY BENEFITSemailing [email protected], or calling the Patron Hotline at (212) 399-3040.

You will receive a reminder email at least 24 hours before your performance to confirm the date, time, and location of your performance.

  • PICKING UP YOUR PATRON TICKETS

Because a ticket is required to enter the Friedman Theatre, Patron tickets for Friedman Theatre shows will be available at the box office 45 minutes prior to the performance.

Tickets for New York City Center Stage I and The Studio at Stage II will be available in the Patron Lounge on the first landing 45 minutes prior to curtain.

  • PRINT-AT-HOME TICKET OPTION

We are happy to offer a green ticketing option for your convenience.  Whether you complete your ticket transactions online or via the Patron Hotline, you can now choose to print out a paper e-ticket instead of picking up your tickets at the theatre. These tickets will be emailed to you after 2pm the day of your performance or Friday after 2pm for weekend performances.

  • PURCHASING ADDITIONAL TICKETS

If you would like to purchase additional tickets, you may do so by clicking here, emailing [email protected], or calling the Patron Hotline at (212) 399-3040. You will have the option of purchasing full-price Patron Seats or discount seats in non-Patron locations, all subject to availability. As a Patron, you may purchase up to two additional Patron Seats and six additional discount seats per production.

  • EXCHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS

You may exchange your tickets to an MTC production before the date of the performance by calling the Patron Hotline during regular business hours. If you cannot attend any performance of a production, you may choose to donate the seats to the theatre and receive a tax credit.

To cancel tickets during business hours, or to cancel tickets to a future performance, please email [email protected] or call the Patron Hotline at (212) 399-3040.

To cancel tickets after business hours on the night of a performance, or for a weekend performance, please call the Ticket Turn-In Line and leave a message for the MTC Company Manager to release your seats. Early notice of cancellations is appreciated.  A Patron representative will return your call the next business day to see if you would like to exchange your tickets for an alternate date. No exchange or additional ticket requests may be left on the Ticket Turn-In Lines. Requests other than after-hours cancellations must be handled by the Patron Office during regular business hours.

    At the Friedman Theatre: (212) 399-3000 x5403
At New York City Center: (212) 399-3000 x6101

Please remember that all Patron Seat reservations must be cancelled prior to curtain if you wish to rebook for another performance or request a tax credit.

If you would like a tax credit, please contact the Patron Hotline as soon as possible. Doing so will increase the number of tickets available for those who might have otherwise been turned away from a sold-out performance.

  • PATRON LOUNGES

At the Friedman Theatre, New York City Center Stage I, and The Studio at Stage II, Patron Lounges open 45 minutes before curtain exclusively to MTC Patrons attending that performance. There, you will find complimentary wine, coffee, and snacks, as well as lockers and private restrooms. In order to preserve exclusive use of the Patron Lounge, we ask that you present your Patron membership card to the attendant for admission.

  • A NOTE FOR PATRONS WHO CHOOSE TO KEEP SUBSCRIPTION SEATS

Your tickets for the season* will be sent via USPS prior to the first show. As soon as you receive your tickets in the mail from MTC, please examine them carefully, paying close attention to the dates, times, and locations of productions. If you cannot attend one of your dates, your subscription tickets can be exchanged for Patron Seats by calling the Patron Hotline at (212) 399-3040. Once you reschedule, please destroy and discard your old tickets.

*Please note that tickets for The Studio at Stage II will not be included in your subscription. You may reserve complimentary seats for The Studio at Stage II by calling the Patron Hotline at (212) 399-3040. Please see COMPLIMENTARY SEATS AT THE STUDIO AT STAGE II above for more information.

  • SERVICES FOR PATRONS WITH SPECIAL ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS

MTC is fully accessible at both the Friedman and New York City Center to people with special accessibility needs. If you or a member of your party requires accessible seating because you use a wheelchair or other mobility device (including walkers, crutches, canes, braces, or other similar devices), please click here to request accommodations.

    WHEELCHAIR AND WHEELCHAIR LIFT LOCATIONS:

Elevator service and wheelchair locations are also available in all theatres. Please notify the Patron Liaison at (212) 399-3040 in advance if you or someone in your party will be using a wheelchair at either theatre, or requires the use of the wheelchair lift at the Friedman Theatre. We can better serve you at the theatre with this advance knowledge.

If you or a member of your party requires accessible seating because you use a wheelchair or other mobility device (including walkers, crutches, canes, braces or other similar devices), please click here to request accommodations.

    ASSISTIVE LISTENING DEVICES:

Assistive listening devices and hearing-aid compatible devices are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis at all MTC venues. At the Friedman, these devices are located at the podium to the left as you enter the inner lobby of the theatre. At Stage I and The Studio at Stage II, these devices are located at the coat check counter on the first landing on the east side of the theatre. At all three theatres, the house manager or staff on duty will provide you with a headset in exchange for a credit card, driver’s license or other form of identification, which will be returned to you at the end of the performance. Please note: headsets not obtained at the theatres will not work with our enhanced listening systems.

    OPEN CAPTIONING:

At designated performances, MTC will offer open captioning for the hearing impaired. For a list of those dates, please call the Patron Hotline at (212) 399-3040.

  • LATE SEATING POLICY

Productions will begin on time and latecomer seating will vary with each production, at the discretion of the house manager and artistic staff, to avoid disturbance to the production and to other patrons. We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone, and disruptions will not be tolerated. MTC accepts no liability for inconvenience to latecomers.
